Delta Oaks Group is seeking an individual to lead and coordinate A&E projects in the telecom vertical. Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to A&E design and production, project coordination, schedule and resource management, client communication, and supporting project management activities associated with turnkey A&E projects in the telecommunications industry.

The Project Lead is intended to serve as a bridge between technical design and full project management responsibilities. This position will lead assigned projects or project components under the direction of a Project Manager while developing the skills necessary to independently manage projects. The selected individual should have a strong technical foundation and demonstrated ability to coordinate people, information, schedules, and deliverables with limited day-to-day supervision.

Positional Responsibilities
The A&E Project Lead coordinates and contributes to the production and execution of assigned projects from initiation through completion. Working under the direction of a Project Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining project progress, coordinating resources, supporting client communication, and ensuring project deliverables meet established schedule and quality expectations.

Depending on assigned projects and the development of the department and role, this position may coordinate the work of Designers and other technical resources. The Project Lead is expected to remain technically involved while progressively taking greater ownership of project execution and management responsibilities.

Anticipated tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate day-to-day execution of assigned A&E projects and project components
  • Review project scope, client requirements, schedules, deliverables, and project priorities
  • Coordinate Designers and other internal resources to support project execution
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, task assignments, and project tracking information
  • Monitor project progress and communicate schedule, resource, scope, or production concerns
  • Identify project issues and potential solutions before they significantly affect project delivery
  • Coordinate with clients, engineers, contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders as applicable
  • Participate in client meetings, project calls, site walks, and other project coordination activities
  • Support project budgeting, labor tracking, utilization, forecasting, and other financial controls
  • Identify potential scope changes, additional-service needs, or project budget concerns and communicate them to the Project Manager
  • Support development of project proposals, scopes of work, estimates, and schedules
  • Perform and coordinate A&E design and production activities as required
  • Review project deliverables for completeness, technical quality, constructability, and compliance with project requirements
  • Provide technical guidance and support to less-experienced Designers
  • Coordinate QA/QC activities and ensure project comments and revisions are appropriately addressed
  • Assist the Project Manager with project documentation, reporting, closeout, and lessons learned
  • Apply established DOG standards, templates, processes, and project management practices
  • Continue developing project management, client management, financial, scheduling, and resource management skills

The selected individual will be expected to understand how the technical, scheduling, financial, and client-management aspects of a project affect one another and to recognize when an issue should be resolved independently versus escalated to the Project Manager or appropriate technical resource.

Due to the nature and limited timelines of most projects, the candidate should be willing and capable of exhibiting the work ethic and social ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment where communication with co-workers, clients, and strategic partners is paramount.

Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Experience with computer drafting software, AutoCAD, is required
  • Experience with telecommunications A&E design and project execution is required
  • Working knowledge of telecommunications A&E project management practices is required

  • Ability to interpret project scope, client requirements, schedules, and technical information
  • Ability to identify project risks, scope concerns, scheduling conflicts, and resource constraints
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word, is required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, project managers, designers, engineers, and other project stakeholders
  • Ability to review technical deliverables and identify quality, coordination, or constructability concerns
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects, deadlines, and competing responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to develop practical solutions and appropriately escalate issues when additional authority or expertise is required

Personal Traits

They should have strong interpersonal skills, as this position requires working and interacting with fellow co-workers, clients, and strategic partners on a daily basis.

This person should be a self-starter who takes ownership of assigned responsibilities, communicates proactively, and is willing to step outside of their immediate responsibilities to help move a project forward. The candidate should demonstrate a desire to develop both technically and professionally, with a focus on project success, client satisfaction, and continued career advancement.

Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
